SANDON PARK

Public BBQ

Navigating to the park can be a bit tricky, as Google Maps may guide you to Salter Point Parade, where there's no parking. However, parking is available at Challenger Ave and near the children's playground by the Sea Scout Group and Boat Club buildings. The park offers a picturesque riverside walk with stunning natural surroundings and abundant wildlife, including pelicans, swans, seagulls, and ducks. The unsealed walkways around a small lake add to its charm. It's a peaceful area perfect for picnics, like enjoying fish and chips, with ample facilities and an off-leash area for dogs. The playground near the river and rowing club is a hit with kids, and the early mornings by the wetlands feel magical.
